When we began planning the refurbishment of Dowgate Hill House, we started by asking the people who already work there what would make the biggest difference to their day.
What tenants asked for
- Better places to meet, from quick catch-ups to client presentations
- More natural light and fresher air
- Secure cycle storage and showers
- Somewhere to take a break away from the desk
What we changed
The ground floor now has shared meeting rooms that any tenant can book, alongside a reception lounge with space to work or wait. Upstairs, floors have been opened up with new lighting and services, and the third floor is ready for a new occupier.
Changing rooms, lockers and secure cycle parking have been added in the basement, making it easier for people to cycle or run to work.
The best brief for a building comes from the people who use it every day.
